In the suitable area of Montepulciano, on land of Pliocene origin, the Gattavecchi family has been cultivating for generations the most traditional of the Tuscan vines: Sangiovese. Historic production areas, low yields per hectare and a lot of work in the vineyard are at the origin of the character of this wine, whose subsequent maturation gives it elegance and balance. Intense red in colour, it has a delicate aroma with hints of red fruit; it has a full, harmonious, elegant flavour, with a pleasantly tannic aftertaste. Versatile in combinations, it does not encounter difficulties in combinations with demanding dishes. It is recommended to serve at 16°-18°.
