The best way to preserve these porcini mushrooms is inside a glass jar stored in a cool, dry place, with a few grains of black pepper inside the jar. They can also be well preserved in the freezer, stored in an airtight container.
They should be soaked in warm water for about an hour before use, eliminating any soil residues. For a lighter taste, add a little milk (one part milk to three parts water) while soaking.
